This questionnaire aims to help linguists in investigating concessive conditional clauses.
Linguists are asked to answer the analytic questions included in the questionnaire. They also have to translate the example sentences given at the beginning of the questionnaire, which actually represent the three major types of concessive conditional clauses.
"- Scalar concessive conditional (SCC) : E1. Even if it rains, we will go outside.
- Alternative concessive conditional (ACC) : E2. Whether it rains or the sun shines, we will go outside.
- Universal concessive conditional (UCC) : E3. Wherever she goes, he will never leave her. " (Haspelmath & König, 1998: 1)
''This questionnaire was developed in the early 1990s for the study of concessive conditional clauses (adverbial clauses introduced by 'even if', 'whether...or', or 'wh-ever') in European languages. [...] Some of the results were published in the following paper:
